Tungsten carbide (WCcap W cap C𝑊𝐶) is a compound made of tungsten (Wcap W𝑊) and carbon (Ccap C𝐶). It's known for its hardness, durability, and high melting point. It's used in many industrial applications, including cutting tools, jewelry, and armor-piercing bullets.  Properties

Hardness: Tungsten carbide is very hard, with a hardness of 9.0 on the Mohs scale, which is just below diamond 

Melting point: Tungsten carbide has a high melting point of 2,600°C 

Electrical conductivity: Tungsten carbide has excellent electrical conductivity 

Chemical stability: Tungsten carbide is resistant to oxidation and does not dissolve in water, hydrochloric acid, or sulfuric acid
